Presenters:  Amanda Schara and Kendra Richman

Amanda Schara received her bachelor’s degree from Coe College and completed her training at the University of Northern Iowa, earning a Master of Science in mental health counseling. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor who has counseled a variety of diverse clients over the last 14 years, Amanda has been a therapist in inpatient and outpatient settings, worked in private practice, supervised staff in a substance abuse/mental health setting, and is currently the director of Outpatient Behavioral Health at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, where she leads the region in behavioral health services. Amanda has a passion to help individuals learn to be their best selves and loves that she has a career that allows her to do so. She really enjoys supervising and coaching other mental health professionals and leaders, and helping companies on their journey in working effectively with people while learning about themselves.

Kendra Richman is a senior consultant in talent management and organizational development at UnityPoint Health in Waterloo, Iowa. She started her career with UnityPoint in Waterloo before taking an enterprise role. Specializing in leadership development, team dynamics, and employee engagement, Kendra has worked in the organizational development field for the past 18 years as both an internal and external consultant for public, private, and nonprofit organizations. Kendra’s six-word mission statement is: “Help people live THEIR best life,” which drives her to help people embrace their talents and reach their full potential. She is a certified Gallup Strengths Coach and a 7 Habits of Highly Effective People facilitator. Kendra is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and is committed to growing leaders throughout her community.
